The Algarve is the home of Golf. There are some really top class courses to choose from and over 30 courses with a half hour drive from Albuferia. I am an avid golfer myself (I am not saying I am any good - I just love the game). In my opinion you are better to book directly with the courses directly and book well in advance if you want decent tee times.. 

Oceanico Golf has the largest selection of courses to choose from with 8 courses in West and Central Argave.

I have played the following courses and would rank them as follows:- 

Excellent - Oceânico Old Course, Oceânico Victoria, Vila Sol, Quinta do Lago North, Quinta do Lago South.

Very Good - Oceânico Laguna, Oceânico Millennium, Quinta da Ria

Over Priced - Vale do Lobo Ocean, Vale do Lobo Royal,San Lorenzo,
